When you're struggling with something—maybe a specific event, maybe some drain you can't quite name—wading through a series of uncomfortable clinical sessions isn't helpful. Having a candid conversation about what's true for you—what's working in your life and what's not—is.
That’s why my goal is to create a space where you can be exactly who you are and share exactly how you feel. Not certain you even know? I get it. As a practicing psychologist, mother of two, and former teenager myself, I know that sometimes feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or just plain down happens. But if it’s compromising your contentment, it’s worth exploring. I pair 20 years of clinical experience with a reliably real approach to therapy, and I’d like to help you find your way forward. As a clinical psychologist, my mission is simple: to help you to identify your goals and provide warm, empowering support while you work toward them. My focus is helping teens and adults navigate anxiety, depression and life changes such as divorce, work/school struggles, illness, and loss. Women's issues—the challenges of motherhood and the pressure to "do it all", especially—are of particular interest to me.
Since 2003, I have helped children, teens, and adults cope with and overcome the emotional and behavioral issues hindering their happiness and confidence. Helping others recognize what their own joyful, balanced life looks like and empowering them, step by step, to achieve it is my passion. I feel strongly that being a therapist, mother, and friend is a privilege. I share my work in northern Michigan, where I grew up and returned in 2012, following eight years in the Metro Detroit area, with several other passions: being active with my family, enjoying our amazing area and trying to keep my cat Waffles out of trouble!
