While I have training and experience working with people of all ages and genders, I am especially passionate about teen therapy and counseling for women. Because my approach to therapy is personal, I strive to relate to you as I am—a mom, a daughter, a friend, a working woman, a former teen — not as an unknowable clinician. That’s because I believe building a foundation where you feel connected and understood is essential to your comfort and your progress.
Women
If you’re a woman today, whether you’re single, working, with children or without, chances are good you’re stressed, overwhelmed, and feel pulled in dozens of different directions. I get it. That spread-too-thin tension is something I keenly understand, and if it’s keeping you from feeling the joy, peace, or gratitude you think you “should” be feeling, please do consider therapy. Taking the time to feel more in control of your life isn’t selfish, and it isn’t a solo endeavor; I’ll help you untangle the many emotions and stresses that got you here and develop a plan that helps you adjust in ways that work with your reality.
Teens
Growth isn’t ever easy. But for teens, who are changing faster now than at any other time in their life, it can be unreasonably hard. The pressures of social and academic expectations, body image, parents’ divorce or remarriages, or other issues can make being a teen even harder, prompting anxiety, depression, eating disorders, or countless other struggles. In cases like these, a parent’s unconditional love and listening might not feel like enough. That’s where I come in, as an absolutely unbiased ear and support system — one your teen can open up to without fear of being judged; disappointing, hurting, or upsetting me; or feeling pressured to say what he or she thinks I want to hear. This unrestricted honesty is absolutely essential to helping your teen navigate these tough years and gain the tools needed to honor and help him or herself.
